Living in New York City is SOOO glamorous.

Under pressure from the peanut gallery (I really don't understand that phrase, by the way.), I've been reflecting on my week so far, on things I might possibly be able to glorify or degrade, and I realized that I have almost nothing to talk about. Or even reflect on. I haven't read anything interesting, listened to anything new, gone anywhere different or thought of anything new or noble or exciting. There are two tiny things, however, that might be of interest to you, the reader.

  1. Monday night was the grand finale of the Bachelorette (# 52?). Suffice it to say that ol' Jen(n) didn't pick either of the last two guys. 25 dudes to choose from and not a one did she pick. Nice.
  2. Instead of updating my blog, I've been surfin' the 'net and I found an organization here in New York that would really be of interest to Lexia, admirer of Eirik , me, #1 American fan of Kashmir, and Genevieve, lover of all things (and people) Scandinavian. Apparently there is an American-Scandinavian Foundation that gives out grants and fellowships to study in--guess where--Scandinavia. So, I immediately tried to think of some sort of proposal to, um, propose so that I could get a grant to study somewhere over there. I haven't come up with anything worthy of a grant, but I'll keep brainstorming. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I can kind of write and sort of do photography, so just think it over. If you want to get in on the proposal, add some of your skills, let me know. Maybe we could collaborate. Of course, most of you know that I'm mostly all talk. You know that I dream of doing something different and going somewhere different every week, depending on my mood. And my mood today says, "SCANDINAVIA."
Hey. I wonder if the phrase "peanut gallery" has anything to do with the people that used to stand near the stage during the times of Shakespeare. You know, those folks were the ones that couldn't afford to pay the big bucks for the seats. (Funny how that works, huh? Now we pay more for the general admission floor tickets.) I wonder if they threw peanuts and tomatoes and stuff at the stage. Hmmm.

So that's all I got. Sara, help me with the comma splices.

I think the land of your origin, the Great Southeast, is SOOO much more glamorous than old NYC! There is nothing quite like a mellow afternoon on our lake (unless its a Fall afternoon in Sanford Stadium)!

All things considered, I guess I really miss you a lot....I know I love you a lot!

P.S. Forget about Scandinavia!

Hey, that 9:20-ish comment was from Sara, by the way. Sometimes my brain just like, leaves for a second; it's like a little lightning storm...in my head. :)

What else does the Scando-American foundation do? Do they have events where us, the Scando-lovers, can meet some of them, the Scandos? Please, please say yes. - superG
