Hey Lauren!!

Thanks for linking me. I'll link you, too ;o) How is your semester. We still have yet to run into each other around campus. Weird, I always run into so many people randomly...

Yo Yvonne.

Yeah, thanks for calling me the other day to let me know about the English party thing. I was in (an English) class during the shindig, so I couldn't go.

"Ize of the World" is my favorite. Maybe numero uno on the album is tied with it.

Hmm, so far my favorite songs are the first three. Maybe that's because I play them over and over and never really get past them? But I definitely like the guitar on "Ize of the World."

By the way, I think "Ize of the World" should be the last song on the album. The last part is awesome and would be a great ending to the whole album. I love how it just ends. Maybe I should have suggested that to Albert or Fab. :)

Amen! I have this album and "Clap your hands say yeah" on a playlist on my ipod that I listen to constantly.

Yeah, you know, I was slow to get into Clap Your Hands Say Yeah because of the guy's voice. But it's definitely growing on me. I REALLY like the music itself. But he kind of yodels.

(I know some of you already know this and have been subject to the story ad nauseum, but bluth's new to it.) The drummer for CYHSY is also Axl Rose in a Guns 'N Roses cover band called Mr. Brownstone. We saw them play in Brooklyn.

Here's the link. http://briggie.blogspot.com/2005/07/best-night-out-in-brooklyn-city.html#comments

Crap. The link doesn't work. Copy/Paste it, I guess.

You think CYHSY yodels? May I submit to you, Antony and the Johnsons.
http://www.antonyandthejohnsons.com Another singer/freakshow that adopted bluth likes. Listen to that for a few minutes and you'll want to jam a spoon in your ear to relieve the pain. That was a little harsh, but man. They are we-ird.
As far as that cover GnR band is concerned, I think that rules.

That makes me love CYHSY even more. And to defend myself...see I love the TV show Lost and I heard a podcast in which the character Hurley was interviewed. Well as it so happens the guy has impeccable taste in music and named the following bands that he loves right now with are the following: The Strokes, CYHSY, Wolf Parade, and Antony and the Johnsons. The only one of those bands that I didn’t already know about or love was Antony..so I checked him out and now I love him.

But he is a little Rufus Wainwright x10 with the somewhat odd and burlesque voice.

Huh. I've never heard of Antony and the Johnsons. (And I'm not really a fan of Rufus Wainwright. Is their stuff mostly acoustic singer/songerwriter stuff?) I'll have to check 'em out, though.

And I do LOVE me some Wolf Parade.

By the way, is the Hurley character the guy on Lord of the Rings?

No. Hurley is the big guy with terrible luck, played by Jorge Garcia.

Dominic Monaghan ("the guy on Lord of the Rings") plays the character Charlie Pace.

Dominic Monaghan,a/k/a Nanny Monaghan, is a mini hero of mine. I remember him as a young tearaway/amateur detective in "Hettie Wainthrop Investigates", a BBC show fondly remembered in the Bovee household. the lad's done well for himself. And he doesn't pretend to be an American like so many other Brit actors working in the US. Hurrah for Yorkshire accents!

either way, antony and the johnsons are WEIRD. even if hurley (not the hobbit) says so.

Yep. Not so fun is it? (And, yeah, I have totally procrastinated.)

Where do you go to school? And what for? (Or is that too personal for the world wide web?)
