April Birds and May Bees

Ain't no Literature here, folks.

I'm a happenin' gal.

That's right. I'm at home on a Friday night reading Carl Jung. (But, to my defense, I'm writing the last paper of the semester. It's a doozie.)

Anyway, ran across a cool quote. Thought I'd share (i.e. procrastinate).

It says, "Both Society and State derive their quality from the mental condition of the individual."
Uh-oh.

(I mean, I realize that's a fairly obvious assertion, but it's so well-put and simple. I don't know. Just liked it.)

Hey, I'm right there with ya, Macduff. I was on my way to a party in Atlanta, but when I got to the Marathon on 166, I decided that I didn't really want to go to the party. I just wanted to be home with my parents. So I turned around and came home.

My mom went to bed early, my dad is watching the TimeLife "70's Explosion" infomercial on DVD, and I'm on the computer. We're not doing anything fun together, but it's nice to know they're here, all the same. Love those parents o' mine. :)

Child archetypes? The Shadow? The transcendent function? The persona?

Lily Bart? Lawrence Selden? Nettie Struthers? Gerty Farish?

I've been working on this paper for 12 hours straight. Minus bathroom breaks and a fast dinner. And blogging time. And checking my emails constantly. Oh, and I did yoga, too.

Man, I have never had this hard of a time with a paper. Ever.

You'll get it done, and when you do, you'll feel like you're KING OF THE WORLD! Now, all you have to do is stand at the front of a very large ship, hold your arms out high, and say, "I'm flying, Jack! I'm flying!"

Wait. Where was I going with that? It's late. I'm tired. My mental associations are not making much sense right now . . .

I spent the day writing, then went to work at the Temple, and am now writing again.

I also just had a conversation with my brother who returned tonight from his Mission in Switzerland. Our conversation went from the difficulties of being bilingual to a discussion of whether or not I should become a mohel...So I think we win the nonsensical mental associations award.

Lauren, we so live in the same world at the moment. I read for two minutes, then let go an inner scream saying, "I hate to read, I want to play, I want to be silly, I don't want to have to produce a single serious sentence ever again!!" and then I read for a few more minutes. Then I get up and fill up my water bottle, change the music, or just leave my room to say something silly to a family member. Then I read a few more minutes until it's time to scream again. Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!

I just got done with my final project/paper of the semester. Luckily the professor is a little more postmodern than most and I was able to produce a training video of sorts instead of a 30 page APA style paper.

But now...ahhh..its all over and the summer has begun!

Summer will officially begin for me at 2:30PM EST on Monday. There will be a party on my blog that night.

Everyone should visit. It'll be fun.

It'd feel a whole heckuva lot better if I wasn't about 87% sure that I failed my French exam (and, therefore, my class).

Parlez-vous francais?
Non, je ne parle pas francais.

(Hey, my word verification thingy has the word "ghetto" in it!)
