Let's Take a Vote

I'm going to apply to grad schools for the fall of '09. But in the meantime, I want do something interesting with my year off. (By "something interesting," I mean move somewhere new.) I think the West Coast is calling my name.

Show of hands. If I can't figure out my future, maybe you guys can.

Should I move to:

A. Seattle?

B. Portland?

C. San Francisco?

D. Somewhere abroad? Somewhere in Europe?

E. Teach English in Korea or Vietnam or Japan?

F. A cabin in the middle of nowhere?

I vote Atlanta. Don't leave us!

Ok, if that's not in the cards, then my second vote is Ireland/Scotland... third vote is San Francisco.

I vote for somewhere abroad in Europe or Japan if your up to it. Otherwise, I'd go Portland or San Francisco. I want to go to Japan so that kind of influences my choice. I think Portland is gorgeous and San Fran would just be interesting.

Hello! B, of course. After living all over the US I have decided that Portland is my fav by far. The scenery, the culture, the eats, the people, the music. I could go on forever. I actually just read an article about a lot of indie rock bands from Seattle moving down here because of the vibe/culture. What school would you be going to?

So everybody has different opinions, huh? You guys sound like the voices in my head.

Sounds like a trip to the West Coast might be needed in order to sort things out. I could start out in CA, head up the coast, and compare cities.

I say move your stuff to your parents house and travel to each city! You could live in each place for a month or two, fly back home every once-in-a-while to regroup, and go back out there again. Why limit yourself to one place when you can do all six?!? I would do that if I didn't have student loans/debt.

Hmm, Lexia, I like the way you think.

I'm with Lexia. Make the most of your time off and take in at least two or those places, if not all of them. Go to Asia. i would choose Korea but Japan would be amazing as well. And San Francisco also gets my vote (err, you could do a little on location family history research for me ;)it involves tales of murder and mayhem so would be fun, I promise)

Yeah, I think I might need to stick with one or two places. I want to have time to enjoy the place, you know?

Portland seems to be the leader in this poll...

I like what Lexia has to say, but if you want my actual vote I always go with San Fransisco! Seattle is pretty great too!
