Despite the fact that...

Genevieve's old roommate (and, coincidentally, Lexia's and my despicable real estate broker that never gave us the kickback she promised) Shelli might like them as well, I am going to see Aqualung play tomorrow night at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. This will be my second time seeing them. (Aqualung is the name of Matt Hales' band and has nothing to do with the Jethro Tull song.)

Side-note #1: Hopefully, Aqualung will also be the subject of a future post entitled "I Liked Them Before You Did." (Possibly a recurring post?)

Side-note #2: Genevieve and Ian are going to see U2 at Madison Square Garden on Monday. UHHH! (Could a guest post be in the works?)

Peace.

In regards to Shelli & Aqualung: I remember her being at the show Genevieve and I attended earlier this year, but it's entirely possible she was dragged there by friends or went out of simple curiosity. It's possible she didn't even enjoy it, or that she merely went there to be "cool." Lots of dull, shallow people do that, you know. If you prefer, you can imagine her standing there, bored out of her mind and wondering what all the fuss was about, never appreciating the beauty of the lyrics or the music!

Also, Woo! Aqualung is great! I hope you really enjoy the show.

And for that matter, Woo! Jethro Tull rocks! They're one of my favourite bands and I was named after their lead singer!

(Incidentally: Not only will we be seeing U2, but Keane will be opening for them! I've never been to a real concert before, so this promises to be an amazing introduction. If I can get past my fear of crowds and over-sensitive ears, that is!)

Yeah, get over your heightened fears and sensitivities, Ian. Fast. 'Cause that will probably be one of the biggest concerts you will ever go to.

And, yes, believe it or not, a Southerner does not like a band called with Jethro Tull as their name. I hate -- HATE -- that stupid jazz flute. Though my brothers would probably say that the jazz flute part of "Anchorman" (with Will Ferrell) was "freakin' hilarious" or something.

And I will most definitely choose to believe that Shelli sat there with her fingers in her ears saying, "LALALALA" during the Aqualung show. Mos def.

That's a long comment. Could've been its own post...

Yeah. There's a typo in that last comment. I'll try to get over it if you will, too.

I can never forgive you for that typo. Perhaps your other readers will be more charitable.

Also, it's not a jazz flute. It's a recorder. And if they were anything other than a rock group, it was probably blues band.

I can't stand jazz, as I feel it lacks the emotional depth and raw power of (for example) the blues or funk.

I guarantee that the day after, Shelli had forgotten she'd even been to see a band named "lung what?". It must have truly galled her that all the attention was on the two guys on the stage and not on her. I'm being unkind, though fair. Anyway, there is simply no possible way that you will not enjoy the show tonight. Have a safe trip!
